Our Brewmaster Brad Wynn has had this recipe in his arsenal of brews for a long time. When production schedules work out we throw this in one in the kettle. It was become so dear to long time fans of Big Boss that we decided that we’d brew it as our anniversary ale. And while quietly celebrating 4 years we put this one in the tank for those diehards.

This is a brew that the great beer hunter Michael Jackson described as having a “nutty-barley-malt aroma; a firm, beautifully balanced palate; and a long, hoppy, bitter finish.”

Big Boss will be supporting the Toxic Free NC event Friday, August 6th – 6pm at Epona & Oak in downtown City Market Raleigh, Come out andtry our limited edition Hefeweizen!  Here are the details:

Toxic Free NC, North Carolina’s only grassroots organization dedicated to fighting pesticide pollution, is offering a unique First Friday opportunity to put your business’ name in front of thousands of Raleigh residents! Our second annual LoveBug event is a draw-off in which notable local artists compete to raise money for Toxic Free NC’s work through the art they create in front of a live First Friday crowd. Last year’s event was the culmination of several weeks of coordinated publicity seen by thousands of people in Raleigh, through news articles, online media as well as old fashioned hand-billing in local shops and restaurants. Last year’s event attracted around 400-500 people! This year we’re working towards an even bigger event! The fun begins at 6 p.m. on August 6 at Epona & Oak in downtown City Market. We’ll have three rounds of competition followed by a finalists’ round, in addition to a gallery style art show inside the store.
